CWAA Plans U.S. Water Prize
In a celebration of sustainable solutions that advance holistic, watershed-based approaches to water quality and quantity challenges, the Clean Water America Alliance (CWAA) will present the inaugural United States Water Prize in 2011. The CWAA created the United States Water Prize to encourage and celebrate those individuals and institutions that are developing projects/programs to advance and address the issues surrounding water as a finite, reusable and sustainable resource. The U.S. Water Prize will seek to honor any United States-based institution, organization, or individual whose project or initiative represents effective innovation in ensuring water sustainability by advancing holistic, watershed-based approaches to water quality and quantity challenges. Initiatives may be in the following topic areas: education, public awareness, research, technology, water resource management, or policy development. Nomination applications for the CWAA U.S. Water Prize will be available in fall 2010.
